First Robotic Warehouse Installation with 3D Shuttle in Deep Freeze

The VOYATZOGLOU Group has completed the first 3D Pallet Shuttle project in Romania for a frozen storage warehouse, setting new standards in supply chain automation. The project was implemented at the state-of-the-art logistics center of Doly-Com Distributie, one of the largest meat production and processing companies in Romania.

With nearly three decades of history, Doly-Com operates one of the most advanced meat processing facilities in the country, with a daily capacity of 100 tons and more than 450 specialized employees. The company’s investments exceed €30 million, making it the largest facility in the Botoșani region and among the top three nationwide.

The 3D Pallet Shuttle technology implemented by the VOYATZOGLOU Group was developed by Atomix, a globally recognized company specializing in robotics and artificial intelligence for logistics. The system operates fully automatically, even at temperatures as low as -28°C, ensuring maximum storage density and absolute pallet-handling precision.

The installation covers 570 square meters, offering 1,520 pallet positions, equipped with four 3D Shuttles and two lifting systems. The efficiency reaches 33 pallets per hour—the equivalent of a fully loaded truck—significantly boosting the distribution performance of Doly-Com.

The benefits are substantial: the warehouse achieves 40% more storage capacity compared to traditional solutions, while energy consumption is reduced by 80% thanks to optimized cooling volume and high-speed door systems. Moreover, it ensures 100% inventory accuracy and 80% lower operating costs, with full automation and 24/7 unmanned operation.

With operations in Greece and Romania, the VOYATZOGLOU Group once again demonstrates its leadership in intralogistics and warehouse automation solutions. Through international partnerships, high-quality certifications, and deep expertise, the group delivers projects that set new benchmarks across the European market.

The Doly-Com project is not merely a technological achievement; it is proof of the VOYATZOGLOU Group’s ability to drive innovation and support the digital transformation of the supply chain, paving the way for the future of automated warehouses in Europe.
