The Put to Light system supports efficient batch picking (mass product collection) and operates as follows:
Initially, an operator collects a batch of products from the warehouse that correspond to multiple different orders simultaneously. The operator then transfers this batch to a put to light station, where there are compartments/locations assigned to specific orders.
The operator scans the product just collected. Immediately, the order locations requiring that product light up, showing the operator where each item should be placed. The light signal is accompanied by quantity indicators and requires confirmation each time the operator places a product in a location. In this way, a large number of products can be distributed quickly and with minimal errors across multiple orders.
The system allows simultaneous fulfillment of multiple orders, achieving increased productivity and minimizing errors in the sorting and order preparation process.
Put to light stations are often modular and can be expanded to increase the number of orders processed simultaneously.
